Our Story
When AI workloads started exploding, we kept hearing the same story from teams across research labs, student groups, and early-stage builders: GPU demand was surging, but nobody actually knew where the energy was going. Costs were unpredictable, efficiency was guesswork, and entire systems were scaling without visibility.
Our team didn't come from the traditional "energy sector." We came from engineering, strategy, and research across Penn and industry projects, where we'd spent years dealing with messy systems, infrastructure bottlenecks, and the constant tradeoff between performance and cost. Working on AI projects ourselves, we saw how quickly power became the hidden variable no one planned for.
Instead of accepting that as normal, we built Amperes.
Today, we help organizations understand the real energy footprint of their AI workloads, manage GPU power intelligently, and run infrastructure that's both cost-efficient and responsible. We're driven by a simple idea: if you can measure it, you can optimize it. And AI deserves infrastructure that's as smart as the models running on it.
